Sönmez Filament

Sonmez Filament Synthetic Thread and Fiber Industry Inc. is the first subsidiary of Sonmez Holding. It was established in 1972 by 15 partners with the aim of manufacturing all kinds of polyester thread and fiber starting from polymer in advanced technology. The unfavorable developments in the domestic and foreign markets have obligated our firm to halt production as of 1 August 2008, and this status has been made permanent and all manufacturing activities have been stopped in full and permanently as of 6 November 2008 due to the fact that no improvement was seen in these unfavorable conditions or no positive expectations arose for the future of the sector.
Due to our motive for undertaking activities in different fields with higher profitability than textile, 15% participation in Sonmez Cement Construction and Mining Inc. was made in 2011. As of 31.12.2014, our capital subscription is 22.500.000 TL and we have a remaining balance of payables in regard to capital subscription in 2.407.500 TL.
Due to the fact that production has been halted, indoors areas are made use of through leasing.
A dissolution and/or liquidation of the company is not in question.
